how file Delay in Submission in Excise return and whether my product is register under ER-8 but can it be register under ER- 5 or ER- 7

Guest

Dear Sir,

We are manufacturer of Transformer from 16 KVA up to 500 KVA. We were not aware of the fact that we have to file the return on Quarterly basis and we thought it has to be filed only on receipt of the payment. Please also let us know ho to get the credit under it and can our return be filed yearly

Your valuable advice to the above matter will be highly helpful

Thanking You

Manufacturer Seeks Guidance on Delayed Excise Returns; Queries Registration Under ER-5 or ER-7 Instead of ER-8 A manufacturer of transformers sought advice on filing delayed excise returns, specifically questioning whether their product, registered under ER-8, could also be registered under ER-5 or ER-7. They were unaware of the quarterly filing requirement, believing it was tied to payment receipt. One response advised filing an ER-3 return with a late fee of 100 per day, capped at 20,000, as per Central Excise Rules. Another suggested contacting the department for clarification to avoid penalties for incorrect filings and to rectify any errors without incurring penalties. (AI Summary)
