GST rate on Water supply projects-reg

N Balachandran

Sir,

Can u please confirm the rate of GST applicable on Sewage and Water pipe line works being executed for Municipal and Water supply and Sewage board>

Regards

N.Balachandran

GST exemption uncertainty for water and sewage pipeline works persists pending issuance of final notification. GST treatment of works for water supply and sewage pipeline projects remains uncertain: no explicit exemption appeared on exemption lists after the GST Council meeting, so such municipal water and sewage pipeline works should be regarded as subject to GST until a final notification clarifies the applicable rate or exemption status. As per the exemption list as available after the conclusion of GST council meet dated 19-5-2017, no exemption to such activity is visible.

Lest us wait for final notification.
