VAT registration advisable for exporters to secure MEIS eligibility, duty drawback and state VAT/CST benefits.
Whether an exporter below the turnover threshold must obtain VAT/CST registration was queried; respondents recommended early registration to secure export incentives and compliance benefits, notably MEIS eligibility and duty drawback, and to ensure correct treatment under State VAT and CST rules; the inquirer decided to register. (AI Summary)

Hi All,

I am exporting under ₹ 5,00,000/- value goods for first time.

Do I need to have VAT registration mandatory or after crossing ₹ 5,00,000/- turnover then I can do VAT registration.

Please confirm.
