CT 1 mandatory despite excise duty to be paid?

Suneet Bhutta Bhutta

Hello,

We are a exporter based in Mumbai and are procuring pharmaceutical raw material from manufacturer based in Vapi.we are ready to pay the excise duty while making payment to the manufacturer but manufacturer is asking for CTN to be given. They have asked the excise department in their range and they have said CT 1 is mandatory even if exporter is paying excise duty.

How can I solve this issue? Is there a notification which says that I can still export by paying the excise duty and without submitting the ct1.

Thank you!

Exporter Disputes CT1 Form Requirement for Pharmaceutical Exports, Despite Willingness to Pay Excise Duty; Interpretations Vary An exporter in Mumbai is facing an issue with a manufacturer in Vapi regarding the requirement of a CT1 form for exporting pharmaceutical raw materials. Despite being willing to pay excise duty, the manufacturer insists on the CT1 form, which is typically used to export goods without paying excise duty. Various forum participants suggest that CT1 is not necessary if excise duty is paid, and recommend contacting the supplier's range office for clarification. The discussion highlights differing interpretations of the requirement, with some experts suggesting CT1 and excise duty payment cannot be combined. (AI Summary)
