Individual Seeks Guidance to Correct Wrongly Dated Service Tax Challan; Advised to Contact Excise Authorities Promptly An individual inquired about rectifying a wrongly dated challan on service tax returns for specific periods. Respondents advised contacting the Superintendent of Central Excise or the jurisdictional Range Officer, as online corrections are not possible post-filing. It was suggested to act promptly to avoid a Show Cause Notice (SCN). Additionally, the office of the Director, ACES System, may contact the Range Officer for rectification. Another respondent mentioned that ACES might send emails with rectification guidelines. The emphasis was on engaging with the relevant authorities for resolution. (AI Summary)
