Draft on GST

Jasbir Uppal

Respected Sir/Madam,

Kindly provide us a copy of Draft on GST that has been released on 04th Nov 2015.

Regards

J.S.Uppal

Tax Consultant

Model GST draft unauthenticated: treat as provisional guidance useful for preparatory awareness and planning by taxpayers. The circulated Model GST draft is unauthenticated by the central tax board and must be treated as provisional; it may be substantially amended before becoming law. Stakeholders should not treat the draft as settled legal authority but may use it for preparatory awareness, operational planning, and to identify likely areas of regulatory change, consulting official releases and professional analyses for further guidance. The Model has not been authenticated by the CBEC and has not been uploaded. So be cautious in this regard till the time it is not authenticated by CBEC.

Ganeshan Kalyani on Dec 6, 2015
Yes this is just a draft rule and not uploaded in CBEC. The report is submitted by Empowered Committee of State Finance minister with suggested set of act to be included in GST act.
DR.MARIAPPAN GOVINDARAJAN on Dec 7, 2015

The draft on GST may undergo many changes while becoming an Act. It is advisable to wait till such time.

KASTURI SETHI on Dec 7, 2015

Sh.Mariappan Govindarajan Ji,

Rightly advised, Sir. We should not be in a hurry. We should save our time and energy for proper utilization on other subject matter.

Ganeshan Kalyani on Dec 7, 2015
I agree with you all, but reading such draft act will give us an idea about how the GST Act will look like. Suddenly if any date is declared then it will difficult for assessee to adopt a such changes at one go.
Ganeshan Kalyani on Dec 8, 2015

Now, on GST you can download lots of information from the Government websites, Big 4 Website to enrich your fundamental knowledge on GST matter. However, it is still a Model Draft Law, but good for making anybody aware about the new development in Indian Tax space.
