Client Eligible for Excise Credit on Transit Sale Invoice: CBEC Circular Clarifies Conditions for Unregistered Dealer Involvement. A client inquired about taking excise credit on a transit sale invoice where the supplier, a non-excisable dealer, is listed as the consignee, and the client is the recipient. The query was addressed by referring to a CBEC circular, which allows the consignee to avail credit if the goods are directly transported from a manufacturer or registered importer, even if the dealer is unregistered. The consensus among responders was that the client can avail the credit, provided the invoice is issued by the manufacturer or registered importer. (AI Summary)
