What is my Gratuity?

Ananya lekha

I have completed 4 years and 6 months in a company... I know As per gratuity act, employees who have 5 years of service is eligible for the gratuity.....But am i eligible for gratuity, since i worked for 4 years and 6 months. If so, how to calculate gratuity for my service???

Eligibility for Gratuity: Must Complete 5 Years Under Gratuity Act; 4 Years and 6 Months Insufficient Despite Calculation Method. An individual inquired about eligibility for gratuity after working 4 years and 6 months at a company, referencing the requirement of 5 years under the Gratuity Act. One respondent suggested they might be eligible and provided a calculation method, while three others disagreed, stating eligibility requires completing 5 years. One detailed that eligibility also depends on working 240 days in a year and provided a gratuity calculation example based on salary. The consensus was that the individual is not yet eligible for gratuity. (AI Summary)

Yes, You will get gratuity amount for your service.

It depends on your basic pay and year of service.......

You can use https://www.easycalculation.com/finance/gratuity-calculation-india.php for finding how much gratuity you will get and also the formula to calculate it.

Gratuity is eligible only after completion of 5 years. In my view you are not eligible for gratuity.

I agree with Mr. Govindarajan. You are not eligible for Gratuity

First you are not eligible for gratuity. after 3 months you are eligible for gratuity.

As per rule your working days should be 240 days in one year 365 Days. then you are eligible for gratuity.

Example :-

If your Basic Salary = 10000.00

10000/26*15*5 = Gratuity ₹ 28846/-
