Rice Mill Project Exporters Must Use CT-1 Form for Excise Duty Relief on Iron and Steel Exported to Africa. A business involved in setting up rice mill projects is exporting materials like iron and steel to Africa for constructing a platform structure. Although exempt from excise as an agro-processing industry, they are required to pay excise duty on these materials purchased in India. They inquired about the possibility of obtaining a refund on the excise duty paid. The response advised that since they are acting as merchant exporters and not manufacturing in India, they should obtain a CT-1 form to receive relief from excise duty. (AI Summary)
