Dear Sir,

It is made mandatory to pay service tax electronically with effect from 01.01.2014.   The assessee is to arrange with the banks for making payment online within the due date; otherwise to pay with interest.

Dear Sir,

In the electronic payment you have to your service tax registration number, the amount of service tax, education cess, secondary and higher secondary education cess, the accounting code of the respective service.  The system will generate cyber receipt containing all details of payments.  The entire thing can be done in your premises and you need not require the help of bank.   The receipt obtained otherwise is not valid.

Regards,

M. GOVINDARAJAN
