Filing return without full tax payment triggers a demand notice and liability to pay the tax with interest.
Filing an income tax return without paying the full tax due will result in a demand notice being raised during assessment; the taxpayer must pay the outstanding tax with interest. To regularise the position, the taxpayer may pay the admitted tax and interest and either file a revised return if permissible or submit the tax challan with a covering letter to the assessing officer. (AI Summary)

what will happen if income tax return subnitted without paying full income tax
