of <h1>DGFT Adds Diamond Imprest Authorisation Scheme to Chapter 4 of Handbook of Procedures 2023; Mumbai Airport Exclusivity.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced new paragraphs in Chapter 4 of the Handbook of Procedures 2023, detailing the Diamond Imprest Authorisation (DIA) scheme. Applications for DIA must be submitted online, and imports and exports are restricted to Mumbai Airport. Export obligations must be fulfilled through the physical export of diamonds, with specific conditions on weight and value addition. The DIA is valid for 12 months, with an 18-month export obligation period. Extensions or revalidations are not permitted. Regularization of defaults involves paying customs duties and interest. The scheme becomes operational on April 1, 2025.
