of <h1>Goa Clarifies GST Exemption on Food Services by Educational Institutions; 5% GST for Third-Party Contracts.</h1> The Government of Goa issued a circular clarifying the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate on food and beverage services provided by educational institutions to their students, faculty, and staff. It states that such services are exempt from GST under Notification No. 38/1/2017-Fin(R&C)(12/2017-Rate), Sl. No. 66, effective from July 1, 2017. However, if these services are supplied by a third party under a contract with the institution, a 5% GST applies. Amendments have been made to remove ambiguity, including omitting 'school, college' from certain entries and adding specific headings for clarity.
