of <h1>New Audit Commissionerate Established in North-East India, Covering Seven States, Operational from October 15, 2014.</h1> The Ministry of Finance has established a new Audit Commissionerate in the North-Eastern Region, headquartered in Guwahati, under the jurisdiction of the Chief Commissioner, Central Excise Zone, Shillong. This Commissionerate covers Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh, and includes a headquarters office and seven circles, each led by a Deputy or Assistant Commissioner. These circles are Guwahati Circle I, II, III, Shillong Circle, Dibrugarh Circle I, II, and Agartala Circle, each with specific jurisdictions. The Commissionerate will be operational from October 15, 2014.
