of <h1>Customs Jurisdiction Changes in Puducherry: Customs Formations to Handle Key Tasks from Jan 15, 2018.</h1> The Central Board of Excise & Customs has issued Notification No. 03/2018-Customs (N.T.), amending the jurisdiction for handling specific Customs-related work in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Effective from January 15, 2018, tasks such as brand rate fixation, acceptance of B-17 Bond/LUT, EOUs, and duty-free imports at concessional rates will be managed by the Customs formations instead of the GST & Central Excise formations. The Commissioners of Customs (Preventive) in Tiruchirappalli, Cochin, and Vijayawada will oversee these duties. Existing GST, Central Excise, and Service Tax responsibilities remain unchanged under the Chennai GST & Central Excise Zone.
