of <h1>Budget 2018-19: New Rs. 8/Litre Road Cess on Fuel; Excise Duty Changes and Exemptions Announced by CBEC.</h1> The Budget 2018-19 introduced a 'Road and Infrastructure Cess' of Rs. 8 per litre on petrol and diesel, effective immediately under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931. The Central Board of Excise & Customs issued several notifications regarding changes in excise duties, including rescinding previous exemptions on road cess for ethanol-blended petrol and bio-diesel, and partial exemptions for specific refineries. New exemptions were introduced for certain products until the enactment of the Finance Bill, 2018. The trade notice aims to inform stakeholders of these changes and requests trade associations to disseminate the information to their members.
