New Guidelines Issued for Safe Handling and Storage of Hazardous Cargo in Customs Areas; Updates 2011 Circular.
The Central Board of Excise & Customs has issued updated guidelines concerning the safety and security of premises where imported or exported goods are loaded, unloaded, handled, or stored. These guidelines specify the required distance between hazardous cargo, including explosives, and general cargo or administrative buildings within a Customs area. The notice serves to inform importers, exporters, and the trade community about these changes, which modify a previous circular from 2011. Any difficulties encountered should be reported to the Customs Department.
