of <h1>Kolkata Customs Introduces New ICES 1.5 Module for Finalizing Provisionally Assessed Bills of Entries; Streamlines Import Process.</h1> The circular from the Office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs at the Air Cargo Complex, Kolkata, informs importers and customs brokers about a new module in ICES 1.5 for finalizing Provisionally Assessed Bills of Entries (BEs), which was previously done manually. Importers and brokers must contact group officers for this process, which involves the Assessing Officer and Group AC/DC using specific roles in ICES 1.5. If duty liability increases, the differential duty must be paid via E-payment or branch. If duty remains unchanged or decreases, bond credit or closure can proceed directly. Finally, importers and brokers should obtain the assessed BE printout after the process. Discrepancies should be reported to the undersigned.
