Bangalore Customs Launches E-Payment for Duty via Net Banking on ICEGATE; Available from March 30, 2007.
The circular from the Commissioner of Customs in Bangalore introduces the procedure for e-payment of customs duties under the Indian Customs EDI system (ICES) at the Air Cargo Complex. Importers can now pay customs duties through net banking with State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank, reducing transaction costs and expediting customs clearance. The e-payment process involves logging into the ICEGATE portal, selecting unpaid challans, and completing payment through designated banks. A cyber receipt is generated upon successful payment, and the transaction details are sent to ICES for customs processing. The facility is available from March 30, 2007.
