Mumbai Customs Eliminates Hard Copy Delivery Orders for Imports; Moves to Online System for Better Security and Transparency.
The Commissioner of Customs (Import) at the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai has announced the elimination of hard copy delivery orders for import cargo, as part of MIAL's E-Freight initiative. This transition to an online delivery order system aims to enhance security and transparency in cargo clearance. Stakeholders have acknowledged the proposed change, which allows airlines to issue delivery orders promptly upon receiving segregation reports. Importers, CHAs, and trade are encouraged to use the online system, though specific import categories can still request hard copies. Stakeholders are invited to submit feedback by April 27, 2015.
