of <h1>SEZ Development Commissioners to Manage Court Cases Independently; Consult DoC on Policy Issues per New Guidelines.</h1> The circular outlines guidelines for Development Commissioners (DCs) of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in handling court cases related to their jurisdictions. DCs are expected to manage litigation matters independently, consulting Government Counsels as needed. If the Department of Commerce (DoC) is involved, particularly in policy-related issues, the draft responses should be vetted by the DoC. In cases requiring DoC's direction, DCs should clearly state the issues for which guidance is sought. Otherwise, DCs should take necessary actions, including legal consultations, to represent the Union of India in court proceedings.
