DEPB License Extension Announced for Embroidered Silk Items Following Customs-DGFT Resolution, Apply Within 60 Days.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has announced an extension for the validity of Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) licenses for embroidered silk items. This extension follows the resolution of issues between Customs and DGFT, as outlined in Customs Circular No. 83/2001. License holders for embroidered silk items under specific DEPB serial numbers can apply for a six-month extension within 60 days of this notice, accompanied by a fee. The same extension applies to licenses for mixed textile products where benefits were only granted for non-silk items. Applications previously time-barred may also be reconsidered, except in cases of fraud or misrepresentation.
