India Sets 25,000 Metric Ton Limit on Value-Added Sugar Exports in Consumer Packs for 1999-2000 Licensing Year.
The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade outlines the export policy for value-added sugar in consumer packs up to 2 kilograms for the licensing year 1999-2000. A ceiling of 25,000 metric tons has been set and allocated to APEDA for distribution according to their procedures. This is in addition to the 30,000 metric tons under existing preferential tariff quotas for the US and EU. APEDA is responsible for ensuring the ceiling is not exceeded and must report when it is reached. A monthly statement detailing exports must be submitted to the Ministry of Commerce and relevant offices.
