Exim Policy 2002-07 Amendments: Changes to EOU/EPZ Schemes, Duty-Free Imports, and Surplus Power Sales in DTA.
The New Exim Policy 2002-07 and its Handbook of Procedures have introduced amendments affecting EOU/EPZ/ETHP/STP/SEZ schemes. Key changes include reclassification of chapters, removal of trading units from EOU/EPZ schemes, allowing duty-free procurement from international exhibitions, and enabling contract farming for agriculture EOUs. Inter-unit transfers are now limited to within zones, and service units must export services to qualify for duty-free benefits. Penal interest rates have been reduced, and surplus power sales in DTA are permitted. Amendments also address duty-free imports and the sale of gold dust in DTA. Notifications have been updated to reflect these changes.
