Waiver granted for Central Excise duty by CESTAT Tribunal

The Appellate Tribunal CESTAT, New Delhi granted waiver of pre-deposit of Central Excise duty amounting to Rs. 3,95,341.65 to M/s. General Electronics of Haryana Ltd. The tribunal found that no duty was chargeable as the company was manufacturing quilted fabrics in running length, not in piece. The waiver of pre-deposit of the entire duty amount was ordered, and the appeal was scheduled for regular hearing on 10-6-2004.
