Overall charge of a rescue station and the rescue rooms is vested in the Superintendent, who must ensure that rescue equipment and apparatus are properly maintained, periodically inspected, tested and adjusted, with adequate spare parts and supplies kept available. The Superintendent must also countersign records, ensure approved training and certification, conduct periodical inspections, perform assigned rescue and recovery work during emergencies, send reports after completion, and maintain records of inspections, defects and corrective action.
