Baggage examination and clearance require declaration, customs verification, absence of prohibited goods, and verified duty payment for bona fide baggage.

A passenger making a baggage declaration must present the baggage to the Customs Officer at the Red Channel or notified customs area for verification and examination. Bona fide baggage may be cleared where it contains no prohibited goods and payment of duty has been verified. In other cases, action may be initiated under the Act.
