Election eligibility requires an active member status-minimum service use or attendance at three consecutive general meetings-and loss of general body membership terminates board office. Board elections are by secret ballot at a general meeting; terms are five years and office bearers are co terminus. Casual vacancies may be nominated up to one third under time limits; larger vacancies require elections. The Authority may conduct elections under Central Government rules, with the society bearing expenses and providing required infrastructure, personnel and documents, and must be notified six months before term expiry.
