Power to enter and seize permits authorised police to search, seize or freeze assets with prompt court notification.

Section 31 authorises police (officer in charge level, with Superintendent written authorisation) to enter, search and seize premises used for prohibited deposit schemes, break open doors if resisted, seize records/property, and detain persons for production before a Designated Court. If seizure is impracticable, the officer may issue a freezing order binding banks and financial or market establishments, limited to thirty days unless a Designated Court authorises extension; frozen property may later be seized. Written grounds or orders must be sent to the Designated Court within seventy two hours and searches, seizures and arrests must follow the Code of Criminal Procedure.
