Service of notice: prescribed modes determine when communications under the Act are deemed served and received.

Section 169 prescribes six modes for service of notices under the Act-personal delivery (including authorised representatives and family), registered post/speed post/courier with acknowledgement, e mail to the registered address, availability on the common portal, publication in a local newspaper, and affixation where other modes are impracticable -and provides that such communications are deemed served on the date of tender, publication or affixation, with postal service deemed at the end of normal transit unless proved otherwise.
