Director appointment requirements: Director Identification Number and filed consent are mandatory for valid appointment.

Every director must be appointed by the company in general meeting except as otherwise provided; no person may be appointed without being allotted a Director Identification Number. A proposed director must furnish that number and a declaration of non disqualification, give consent to act, and have that consent filed with the Registrar within thirty days. Independent director appointments require an explanatory statement confirming board opinion on statutory conditions.
