Entry into force of treaty: Convention activates after prescribed ratification deposits for initial and later signatories.

The Convention enters into force on the first day of the month following expiry of a three-calendar-month period beginning on the date of deposit of the fifth instrument of ratification, acceptance or approval; for any Signatory depositing thereafter, it enters into force for that Signatory on the first day of the month following expiry of a three-calendar-month period beginning on the date of that Signatory's deposit of its instrument of ratification, acceptance or approval.
