Code on Wages offences require complaint by government, authorised officer, employee, trade union or inspector; tried only by higher magistrates.

Cognizance of offences under the Code on Wages is confined to complaints by the appropriate Government, an authorised officer, an employee, a registered trade union, or an Inspector cum Facilitator; courts below the rank of Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the first class are barred from trying such offences.
