Declaration of interest: appointees must publicly disclose direct and indirect interests to protect cooperative governance.

Section 45C mandates that before appointing a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson or Member the Central Government satisfy itself that the person lacks financial or other interests likely to prejudice their functions; appointees must declare, on entering office and annually, the extent of direct or indirect, financial or non financial interests in any cooperative society; and the Authority must place those declarations in the public domain.
