Exemption from customs duty: executive may grant special-order relief for strategic, secret or charitable goods in public interest.

The amendment authorises the Central Government, if satisfied it is necessary in the public interest, to exempt by special order in each case from payment of customs duty any goods, provided reasons are stated in the order; the exemption explicitly applies to goods of strategic or secret nature and to goods for charitable purpose.
