Readjustment of territorial constituencies and reserved seats is to be conducted using the later census figures due to concerns that earlier population data were outdated. The Delimitation Commission, supported by election authorities, will rationalise Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies and refix reserved-seat numbers for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes on that census basis, while maintaining the existing total allocation of seats to each State.
