On the other hand, Mr. Dhruv Mehta, learned senior counsel, who appears on behalf of the petitioners, says that any delay in clearance of the subject material i.e. CPC, which is lying at the Kakinada and Gangavaram Ports shall result in the smelter plants becoming non-operable. 4.1 Mr. Mehta says that the petitioner No. 1 and 2 are together the biggest producers of aluminium in the country. It is Mr. Mehta's contention that the petitioner No. 1 and 2 produce nearly 50% of the total aluminium which is produced in the country. 4.2 Mr. Mehta further informs me that CPC available in the two plants which are located in Orissa and Chhattisgarh can only last for another 4 and 7 days respective....
