However, when they agreed to the amendment of the letters of credit with respect to the date of shipment, it was not merely extension in the period of shipment but it also amounted to increased price for the goods in question. In a case where there is a change either in the quantity or in the value of the goods one cannot say that the original contract subsisted and it is clear that a fresh commitment came into force.
