of <h1>Weighing Machinery Under Code 8423: IGST 18% or CGST/SGST 9% Each, Amended by Notification No. 43/2017.</h1> Goods classified under code 8423 are subject to an IGST rate of 18% or a combined CGST and SGST/UTGST rate of 9% each. This classification includes weighing machinery, excluding balances with a sensitivity of 5 centigrams or better, as well as weight-operated counting or checking machines and all types of weighing machine weights. The description was amended by notification no. 43/2017, effective from November 15, 2017, which previously excluded electric or electronic weighing machinery from this classification.
