of <h1>PPF Included Under Section 80C for Tax Assessment from 2006-07 Onwards per Notification No. 222/2005.</h1> Notification No. 222/2005, dated November 3, 2005, issued by the Central Government under the powers conferred by clause (v) of sub-section (2) of section 80C of the Income-tax Act, 1961, specifies the Public Provident Fund (PPF), established under the PPF Scheme, 1968, as applicable for the assessment year 2006-07 and subsequent years. This notification formalizes the inclusion of the PPF under the specified clause for tax assessment purposes from the aforementioned assessment year onwards.
