of <h1>CBEC Authorized to Withdraw Positive List Provisions on Service Tax Effective June 1, 2012, per Finance Act, Section 143</h1> The Finance Act, 2012, empowers the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) to withdraw the provisions of the positive list concerning service tax. This amendment comes into effect on June 1, 2012. The Government of India, through Notification No. 18/2012-Service Tax, has appointed this date for the enforcement of clauses (A), (B), (D), and (E) of section 143 of the Finance Act, 2012. This notification is issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, and is documented under reference number F. No. 334/1/2012-TRU.
