<h1>India Updates Currency Exchange Rates for Imports and Exports Effective September 1, 2011, per Notification No. 62/2011-CUSTOMS.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, issued Notification No. 62/2011-CUSTOMS (N.T.) on August 26, 2011, under the Customs Act, 1962. This notification supersedes a previous one from July 27, 2011, and establishes new exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for import and export purposes, effective September 1, 2011. The rates are detailed in two schedules, with Schedule I listing rates for individual units of various currencies like the US Dollar, Euro, and Pound Sterling, and Schedule II providing rates for 100 units of the Japanese Yen.
