<h1>India Exempts Customs Duty on Select Bangladeshi Goods at Border Haats; Excludes Tobacco, Alcohol; $50 Daily Limit Per Person.</h1> The Government of India exempts certain goods from customs duty when imported from Bangladesh for sale at specific border haats located at Balat, Kalaichar, Srinagar (Tripura), and Kamalasagar (Tripura) along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The exemption applies to goods locally produced in Bangladesh, including vegetables, fruits, spices, minor forest produce, cottage industry products, agricultural implements, garments, melamine products, and processed food items. The exemption is subject to conditions, such as a maximum value limit of US$ 50 per person per day and excludes tobacco and alcohol products.
