<h1>India's Central Govt Grants Customs Duty Exemptions on Goods in Chapters 84 and 85 of Tariff Act 1975</h1> The Central Government of India issued Notification No. 60/87-Cus, dated March 1, 1987, under the Customs Act, 1962, to grant exemptions on certain goods under Chapters 84 and 85 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This supersedes previous notifications and exempts specified goods from portions of customs duty exceeding specified rates. The exemptions apply to various goods, including central heating boilers, auxiliary plants, internal combustion engines, air conditioning machines, self-propelled trucks, valves, bearings, electrical resistors, circuit protection devices, carbon electrodes, and insulators, with duty rates ranging from 3% to 110% ad valorem.
