Customs Duty Set at 35% for Vegetable Saps in Homeopathic Medicines, Exempt from Additional Duty under Section 3
The notification prescribes a basic customs duty of 35% and exempts additional duty on vegetable saps and extracts used in homeopathic medicines. Issued under the Customs Act, 1962, and effective from March 20, 1990, this exemption applies to items classified under sub-heading No. 1302.19 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The Central Government, citing public interest, has determined that these imports into India will only incur a 35% ad valorem duty, with no additional duty under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act.
