<h1>India Sets New Exchange Rates for Currency Conversion on Imports Starting September 2002 Under Notification No. 57/2002-Customs</h1> Notification No. 57/2002-Customs (N.T.), dated 26th August 2002, issued by the Government of India, supersedes Notification No. 48/2002-Cus. (N.T.) and sets new exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods. Effective from 1st September 2002, the rates are detailed in two schedules. Schedule I lists rates per unit for currencies like the Australian Dollar (26.35 INR), US Dollar (48.70 INR), and Euro (47.20 INR). Schedule II specifies the rate for 100 units of the Japanese Yen at 40.55 INR.
