<h1>New Customs Notification Sets Exchange Rates for Stamp Duty and Imports Under Customs Act Section 14</h1> Notification No. 20/2002-Customs (N.T.), dated March 22, 2002, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 9/2002-Cus. (N.T.). It prescribes the exchange rates for foreign currencies for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for determining the value of imported goods under Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. Effective from April 1, 2002, the rates for various currencies such as the US Dollar, Euro, and others are specified in two schedules, with the Japanese Yen listed at a rate of 37.25 Indian Rupees per 100 units.
