India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Acrylic Fiber from Mexico Under Customs Tariff Act, Effective Until November 1999
The notification imposes an anti-dumping duty on acrylic fiber, including tow and tops, ranging from 1.5 to 8.0 denier, originating in or exported from Mexico, as per the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The Designated Authority concluded that such imports were below normal value and caused material injury to the Indian industry. The duty is set as the difference between Rs. 83.70 per kg and the landed value per kg of the acrylic fiber. This measure is effective until November 13, 1999. Landed value includes all customs duties except those under specific sections of the Customs Tariff Act.
