(N.T.), dated May 26, 1999, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 26/99-Cus. (N.T.) and establishes new exchange rates for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for determining the value of imported goods under section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. Effective June 1, 1999, the exchange rates for various foreign currencies, including the U.S. Dollar, Euro, and Pound Sterling, are specified in two schedules.
