<h1>Value Limit for Export of Commercial Samples Raised to Rs. 50,000 Under Section 157 of Customs Act</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has amended the Courier Imports and Exports (Clearance) Regulations, 1998, to increase the value limit for commercial samples intended for export. The previous limit of Rs. 10,000 has been raised to Rs. 50,000. This change, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, is authorized under section 157 of the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment is documented in Notification No. 9/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated 1st March 2001, and modifies regulation 3, clause (c) of the original regulations.
